Some of you will have noticed the work being undertaken by the tree team. Ash die-back, the removal of the Witch Hazel by Sunderland Street, trimming of some of the lime trees ( which are renowned for dropping branches) have been dealt with in the last couple of weeks. One of the two Silver Birch trees in the Memorial Garden will have to be removed soon as well. Silver birches are not long lived trees and this one is losing its bark round the base. The ash trees were probably saplings that escaped management and the ginkgos will benefit from their removal.
