M22: Lawson Cypress, Chamaecyparis lawsoniana

A fine example of shelter and a climbing tree ! Lawson Cypress  was introduced from  NW California and Oregon. in 1854  and  there are a multitude of varieties, all having the smell of resin and parsley when  the shoots are crushed. The leaves are minute and the shoots arranged in flattened sprays.
