A deciduous, dioecious shrub from western North America, its leaves appear in late winter. It can sucker and form a dense thicket. Small, creamy white, almond scented flowers appear in clusters in early spring. Male and female plants are separate and we need the other sex to accompany this one and produce edible fruit. There are three bushes and we may have both sexes.
