J07: Weeping Silver Lime, Tilia tomentosa var petiolaris

A large tree with heart shaped leaves, it  originates from Southeastern Europe to Turkey. Var petiolaris  may be a  hybrid. Its scented flowers open in spring and the characteristic little round fruit are suspended beneath a large wing that helicopters the seeds on the breeze. Lime trees are messy, continually dropping branches, leaves fruits throughout the year.
