K07: Yew, Taxus baccata

A native evergreen tree related to conifers, the Yew is distributed from Europe and Algeria to Asia Minor and Iran. Some trees in Britain are very old and it is planted everywhere. The wood is used for long bows. There are many varieties in shape and colour. The rruit are bright red.
