Persian ironwoodA dense, spreading, short-trunked tree with grey brown bark and glossy green leaves which turn red and orange in autumn. This small tree growing to 8 m comes from northern Iran and the north Caucasus. It is related to the Witch Hazel, Hammamelis and was introduced in 1841. Its flowers are tiny, born in clusters before the leaves appear.  Fl 1-2.
