A native deciduous shrub, with sycamore like leaves and flat ‘lace-cap’ heads of creamy white flowers. The fruits are bright red. It is now subject to attack by the Viburnum Beetle, (Pyrrhalta viburni). The Viburnum beetle is a serious pest of several species of viburnum. The larvae attack the leaves, causing severe defoliation of plants. Adult beetles also eat the leaves.
