May was spent digging out the beds in the Memorial Garden and creating new beds by the front lawn. We planted Phormiums there as a striking architectural feature. A total of £700 was donated for plans and together with the Council we have replanted these beds, started the beds by the front lawn, and completed the replanting of the planters. We have also reinstated the sundial pedestal which awaits its gnomon.

End of an EraPhormium

The storm at the end of May resulted in the loss of our Lombardy Poplar, a one time national champion, and the consequent devastation of the Sunderland Street Entrance. We will repair the damage.
