These silvery leaved shrubs produce small white scented flowers in autumn. Most species come from Asia ( China, Japan, Korea) but a few are found in the Himalayas to Southern Europe and North America. The cultivars are often salt resistant and used for hedging in coastal towns. There are a group of these in the north entrance.
