The redstarts are still around: a flock of about 20 has been a regular visitor in the park. And the Goldcrests have been around as well. It is a pleasure to watch them. They are like little hummingbirds. A couple from the Ailanthus stump which I haven’t identified.

You may have noticed the new tree in the Park. One of our Friends has donated a Cedar of Lebanon complimenting our other two cedars, the Atlas and the Deodar, as the Jubilee tree. It has just been included in the Queen’s Green Canopy as part of the Jubilee celebrations.
Thanks to everyone who came out on Sunday morning to help clear up the debris. The fallen Asiatic Birch was moved off the path and everything was cleared and put into stick stacks. A very good couple of hours work from everyone. Have a good rest this afternoon 🙂 Read more…
